al-ḥamdu lillāhil-lażī lahū mā fis-samāwāti wa mā fil-arḍi wa lahul-ḥamdu fil-ākhirah(ti), wa huwal-ḥakīmul-khabīr(u).
All praise belongs to Allah, who owns all in the heavens and earth, and all praise in the Hereafter is His. He is All-Wise, All-Aware.
He knows what enters the earth, what emerges from it, what descends from the sky, and what ascends to it. He is Most Merciful, Most Forgiving.
wa qālal-lażīna kafarū lā ta'tīnas-sā‘ah(tu), qul balā wa rabbī lata'tiyannakum, ‘ālimul-gaib(i), lā ya‘zubu ‘anhu miṡqālu żarratin fis-samāwāti wa lā fil-arḍi wa lā aṣgaru min żālika wa lā akbaru illā fī kitābim mubīn(in).
Disbelievers say, The Hour will not come to us. Say, By my Lord, Knower of the unseen, it will surely come to you. Nothing, not even an atom’s weight in heavens or earth, nor smaller or larger, escapes Him, all recorded in a clear Book.
liyajziyal-lażīna āmanū wa ‘amiluṣ-ṣāliḥāt(i), ulā'ika lahum magfiratuw wa rizqun karīm(un).
So Allah may reward those who believe and do good deeds with forgiveness and noble provision.
Those who strive against Our signs, thinking they can thwart Our punishment, will face a grievous torment.
wa yaral-lażīna ūtul-‘ilmal-lażī unzila ilaika mir rabbika huwal-ḥaqq(a), wa yahdī ilā ṣirāṭil-‘azīzil-ḥamīd(i).
Those given knowledge see that what your Lord revealed to you is truth, guiding to the path of the Mighty, the Praiseworthy.
wa qālal-lażīna kafarū hal nadullukum ‘alā rajuliy yunabbi'ukum iżā muzziqtum kulla mumazzaq(in), innakum lafī khalqin jadīd(in).
Disbelievers say, Shall we show you a man who claims that when you are torn to pieces, you will be recreated anew?
aftarā ‘alallāhi każiban am bihī jinnah(tun), balil-lażīna lā yu'minūna bil-ākhirati fil-‘ażābi waḍ-ḍalālil-ba‘īd(i).
Does he invent lies against Allah or is he mad? No, those who deny the Hereafter are in torment and deep error.

Do they not see the heavens and earth before and behind them? If We will, We could swallow them into the earth or drop fragments from the sky. This is a sign for every servant who turns to Allah.
wa laqad ātainā dāwūda minnā faḍlā(n), yā jibālu awwibī ma‘ahū waṭ-ṭair(a), wa alannā lahul-ḥadīd(a).
We granted David a favor from Us, saying, O mountains and birds, echo praises with him. We softened iron for him.
ani‘mal sābigātiw wa qaddir fis-sardi wa‘malū ṣāliḥā(n), innī bimā ta‘malūna baṣīr(un).
Make large coats of mail, measuring their links, and do righteous deeds. I see all you do.
wa lisulaimānar-rīḥa guduwwuhā syahruw wa rawāḥuhā syahr(un), wa asalnā lahū ‘ainal-qiṭr(i), wa minal-jinni may ya‘malu baina yadaihi bi'iżni rabbih(ī), wa may yazig minhum ‘an amrinā nużiqhu min ‘ażābis-sa‘īr(i).
For Solomon, We made the wind serve him, its morning journey a month’s travel, its evening journey a month’s travel. We made molten copper flow for him. Some jinn worked under him by his Lord’s leave, and whoever among them defied Our command tasted the blazing fire’s torment.
ya‘malūna lahū mā yasyā'u mim maḥārība wa tamāṡīla wa jifānin kal-jawābi wa qudūrir-rāsiyāt(in), i‘malū āla dāwūda syukrā(n), wa qalīlum min ‘ibādiyasy-syakūr(u).
They made for Solomon what he desired: lofty buildings, statues, basins like reservoirs, and fixed cauldrons. Work, O family of David, in gratitude. Few of My servants are truly grateful.
falammā qaḍainā ‘alaihil-mauta mā dallahum ‘alā mautihī illā dābbatul-arḍi ta'kulu minsa'atah(ū), falammā kharra tabayyanatil-jinnu allau kānū ya‘lamūnal-gaiba mā labiṡū fil-‘ażābil-muhīn(i).
When We decreed Solomon’s death, only a termite eating his staff revealed it. When he fell, the jinn realized that, had they known the unseen, they would not have remained in humiliating torment.
laqad kāna lisaba'in fī maskanihim āyah(tun), jannatāni ‘ay yamīniw wa syimāl(in), kulū mir rizqi rabbikum wasykurū lah(ū), baldatun ṭayyibatuw wa rabbun gafūr(un).
For the people of Sheba was a sign in their homeland: two gardens, one on the right, one on the left. Eat of your Lord’s provision and be grateful to Him. Yours is a good land, and your Lord is Most Forgiving.
fa a‘raḍū fa arsalnā ‘alaihim sailal-‘arimi wa baddalnāhum bijannataihim jannataini żawātai ukulin khamṭiw wa aṡliw wa syai'im min sidrin qalīl(in).
But they turned away, so We sent a mighty flood against them, replacing their gardens with ones bearing bitter fruit, tamarisk, and sparse lote trees.
Żālika jazaināhum bimā kafarū, wa hal nujāzī illal-kafūr(a).
Thus We punished them for their disbelief. We only punish those who are utterly ungrateful.
wa ja‘alnā bainahum wa bainal-qural-latī bāraknā fīhā quran ẓāhirataw wa qaddarnā fihas-sair(a), sīrū fīhā layāliya wa ayyāman āminīn(a).
Between them and the blessed towns, We placed visible settlements, setting measured stages for travel. Journey through them safely by night and day.
fa qālū rabbanā bā‘id baina asfārinā wa ẓalamū anfusahum fa ja‘alnāhum aḥādīṡa wa mazzaqnāhum kulla mumazzaq(in), inna fī żālika la'āyātil likulli ṣabbārin syakūr(in).
But they said, Our Lord, lengthen the distances of our journeys, wronging themselves. We made them tales and scattered them utterly. In this are signs for every patient, grateful soul.
wa laqad ṣaddaqa ‘alaihim iblīsu ẓannahū fattaba‘ūhu illā farīqam minal-mu'minīn(a).
Satan proved true his assumption about them, and they followed him, except a group of believers.
wa mā kāna lahū ‘alaihim min sulṭānin illā lina‘lama may yu'minu bil-ākhirati mimman huwa minhā fī syakk(in), wa rabbuka ‘alā kulli syai'in ḥafīẓ(un).
He had no power over them, only to distinguish those who believe in the Hereafter from those who doubt it. Your Lord watches over all things.

Say, Call upon those you claim as gods besides Allah. They hold not an atom’s weight in the heavens or earth, have no share in them, nor are any their helpers.

Intercession with Him benefits only those He permits. When fear leaves their hearts, they ask, What did your Lord say? They reply, The truth. He is Most High, Most Great.
qul may yarzuqukum minas-samāwāti wal-arḍ(i), qulillāh(u), wa innā au iyyākum la‘alā hudan au fī ḍalālim mubīn(in).
Say, Who provides for you from the heavens and earth? Say, Allah. Either we or you are rightly guided or in clear error.
qul lā tus'alūna ‘ammā ajramnā wa lā nus'alu ‘ammā ta‘malūn(a).
Say, You will not be questioned for our deeds, nor we for yours.
qul yajma‘u bainanā rabbunā ṡumma yaftaḥu bainanā bil-ḥaqq(i), wa huwal-fattāḥul-‘alīm(u).
Say, Our Lord will gather us and judge between us with truth. He is the Just Decider, All-Knowing.
qul arūniyal-lażīna alḥaqtum bihī syurakā'a kallā, bal huwallāhul-‘azīzul-ḥakīm(u).
Say, Show me those you joined with Him as partners. No, He alone is Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.
We sent you to all mankind as a bearer of good news and a warner, but most people do not know.
wa yaqūlūna matā hāżal-wa‘du in kuntum ṣādiqīn(a).
They say, When will this promise come if you are truthful?

Say, For you is an appointed Day; you cannot delay or hasten it by a moment.

Disbelievers say, We will not believe in this Qur’an or what came before it. If only you could see the wrongdoers before their Lord, blaming each other. The weak say to the arrogant, Without you, we would have been believers.

The weak say to the arrogant, No, it was your scheming day and night, urging us to disbelieve in Allah and set up equals to Him. They hide their regret when they see the punishment. We place shackles on the disbelievers’ necks. They are only repaid for what they did.

Your wealth and children do not bring you closer to Us. Those who believe and do good deeds earn multiplied rewards and dwell securely in lofty abodes.
wal-lażīna yas‘auna fī āyātinā mu‘ājizīna ulā'ika fil-‘ażābi muḥḍarūn(a).
Those who strive against Our signs to thwart them will be brought to punishment.

Say, My Lord expands or restricts provision for whichever of His servants He wills. Whatever you spend, He replaces it. He is the best of providers.
wa yauma yaḥsyuruhum jamī‘an ṡumma yaqūlu lil-malā'ikati ahā'ulā'i iyyākum kānū ya‘budūn(a).
On the Day He gathers them all and says to the angels, Did they worship you?
qālū subḥānaka anta waliyyunā min dūnihim, bal kānū ya‘budūnal-jinna akṡaruhum bihim mu'minūn(a).
They say, Glory be to You! You are our Protector, not them. No, they worshipped jinn; most believed in them.
fal-yauma lā yamliku ba‘ḍukum liba‘ḍin naf‘aw wa ḍarrā(n), wa naqūlu lil-lażīna ẓalamū żūqū ‘ażāban-nāril-latī kuntum bihā tukażżibūn(a).
That Day, none of you can benefit or harm another. We will say to the wrongdoers, Taste the fire’s torment you denied.
wa iżā tutlā ‘alaihim āyātunā bayyinātin qālū mā hāżā illā rajuluy yurīdu ay yaṣuddakum ‘ammā kāna ya‘budu ābā'ukum, wa qālū mā hāżā illā ifkum muftarā(n), wa qālal-lażīna kafarū lil-ḥaqqi lammā jā'ahum, in hāżā illā siḥrum mubīn(un).
When Our clear signs are recited to them, they say, This man only wants to turn you from what your forefathers worshipped. They say, This is but a fabricated lie. Disbelievers call the truth, when it comes, mere obvious magic.
wa mā ātaināhum min kutubiy yadrusūnahā wa mā arsalnā ilaihim qablaka min nażīr(in).
We gave them no scriptures to study, nor sent a warner before you.
wa każżabal-lażīna min qablihim, wa mā balagū mi‘syāra mā ātaināhum fakażżabū rusulī, fakaifa kāna nakīr(i).
Those before them also denied, though they received not a tenth of what We gave the ancients, yet they rejected My messengers. How severe was My wrath!
qul innamā a‘iẓukum biwāḥidah(tin), an taqūmū lillāhi maṡnā wa furādā ṡumma tatafakkarū, mā biṣāḥibikum min jinnah(tin), in huwa illā nażīrul lakum baina yadai ‘ażābin syadīd(in).
Say, I advise you one thing: stand before Allah, in pairs or alone, and reflect. Your companion is not mad; he is only a warner to you before a severe punishment.
qul mā sa'altukum min ajrin fahuwa lakum, in ajriya illā ‘alallāh(i), wa huwa ‘alā kulli syai'in syahīd(un).
Say, Any reward I ask is for you. My reward is only from Allah, and He knows all things.
qul inna rabbī yaqżifu bil-ḥaqq(i), ‘allāmul-guyūb(i).
Say, My Lord reveals the truth; He is the Knower of the unseen.
qul jā'al-ḥaqqu wa mā yubdi'ul-bāṭilu wa mā yu‘īd(u).
Say, Truth has come, and falsehood neither creates nor returns.
qul in ḍalaltu fa'innamā aḍillu ‘alā nafsī, wa inihtadaitu fabimā yūḥī ilayya rabbī, innahū samī‘un qarīb(un).
Say, If I err, it harms only me; if I am guided, it is by what my Lord reveals to me. He is All-Hearing, Ever-Near.
wa lau tarā iż fazi‘ū falā fauta wa ukhiżū mim makānin qarīb(in).
If only you could see them, terrified, unable to escape, seized from a place nearby.
wa qālū āmannā bih(ī), wa annā lahumut-tanāwusyu mim makānim ba‘īd(in).
They say, We believe in Him. But how can they gain faith from a distant place?
wa qad kafarū bihī min qabl(u), wa yaqżifūna bil-gaibi mim makānim ba‘īd(in).
They disbelieved before, denying the unseen from afar.
wa ḥīla bainahum wa baina mā yasytahūn(a), kamā fu‘ila bi'asy-yā‘ihim min qabl(u), innahum fī syakkim murīb(in).
A barrier blocks them from their desires, as with their kind before, lost in deep doubt.
