Q.S Al-Qari'ah (اَلْقَارِعَة) - 11 Number of Verses

اَلْقَارِعَةُۙ

al-qāri‘ah(tu).

Judgment Day,

مَا الْقَارِعَةُ ۚ

mal-qāri‘ah(tu).

What is Judgment Day?

وَمَآ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ ۗ

wa mā adrāka mal-qāri‘ah(tu).

And what will make you know Judgment Day?

يَوْمَ يَكُوْنُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوْثِۙ

yauma yakūnun-nāsu kal-farāsyil-mabṡūṡ(i).

On that Day, people will be like scattered moths,

وَتَكُوْنُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوْشِۗ

wa takūnul-jibālu kal-‘ihnil-manfūsy(i).

and mountains will be like carded wool.

فَاَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهٗۙ

fa ammā man ṡaqulat mawāzīnuh(ū).

As for those whose scales of good deeds are heavy,

فَهُوَ فِيْ عِيْشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍۗ

fa huwa fī ‘īsyatir rāḍiyah(tin).

they will dwell in a life of contentment.

وَاَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِيْنُهٗۙ

wa ammā man khaffat mawāzīnuh(ū).

But those whose scales of good deeds are light,

فَاُمُّهٗ هَاوِيَةٌ ۗ

fa ummuhū hāwiyah(tun).

their home will be the abyss of Hawiyah.

وَمَآ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا هِيَهْۗ

wa mā adrāka mā hiyah.

And what will make you know what Hawiyah is?

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ ࣖ

nārun ḥāmiyah(tun).

It is a fiercely blazing fire.
